Underachiever Oscar (Will Smith) is a pint-sized fish with grand aspirations. When mob-connected great white shark Frankie (Michael Imperioli) is accidentally killed, Oscar concocts a story with Frankie's peace-loving brother Lenny (Jack Black) that it was he who murdered the shark. Suddenly hailed "Sharkslayer" by his aquatic brethren, Oscar has bigger fish to fry when Frankie's father, mob boss Don Lino (Robert De Niro), dispatches his henchmen to track down his son's killer.

Shark Tale | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Bob Longino Atlanta Journal-Constitution This is a loud, visually busy, offensive in its obviousness and virtually empty computer-animated film from DreamWorks. If not, then THE worst. Rated: 3/10 Feb 23, 2024 Full Review Shark Tale | Rotten Tomatoes (5) James Mottram The List As it is, it's an adequate time-killer that benefits from an impressive voice cast... Best of the bunch is Martin Scorsese as puffer-fish Sykes, sounding like he's sucked on helium. Rated: 3/5 Apr 22, 2019 Full Review Shark Tale | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net It's awful and is without a doubt one of the worst mainstream animated films of the last 20 years. Hello I Amazing and don't listen to anyone review bombing this art Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Jay W "Shark Tale" is not a fondly remembered movie. It never received a Netflix series; DreamWorks doesn't include it in their intro and in general this film has quietly been forgotten. But at the time this film was coming out, it was highly promoted. I remember there were advertisements for this everywhere. There were also tons of commercials, product tie-ins with Fruit by the Foot and Burger King toys. Heck, the film even got nominated for an Academy Award. The film has Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese in it. In total it has 5 Oscar winners in the cast. After "Antz" and "Bug's Life", "Shark Tale" just seemed like DreamWorks answer to the success of 2003's "Finding Nemo". To the movie's credit, it is not a "Finding Nemo" knock off. The movie isn't a knock off, it's just awful.Perhaps we could forgive the terrible animation and hideous character designs. Maybe we could overlook the nonsensical world building of this underwater world. Maybe we could even look passed the irritating jokes ranging from farts to burps. But what really makes this film so awful, comes down to the characters and story.Oscar is not a likable character. He is selfish, obnoxious, vindictive and an ego maniac. His main goal is to be rich and famous. Famous for what? He doesn't care, as long as he is the center of attention that is what matters. The story they find themselves in is nothing but a series of clichés that we have already seen a dozen times told better in other movies. It is the liar reveal trope, it is the parents accepting children for what they are trope, it is the best friend in love with the hero but doesn't have the courage to speak up. All of these tired stories wrapped up in one foul smelling seaweed wrap ready for your consumption.I won't be coy, this film stinks like rotten fish. Oh cod, this is a load of bull carp. - Fin. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/30/24 Full Review Eva P Not bad not bad but no the best Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review LETICIA C I want to regard the reviews saying the animation itself is bad. Back then, 3-D animation was hard, so animating water, capes, and clothes moving was extremely hard. Plus one little mistake and the whole entire movie could've been screwed. It's an extremely underrated movie, it brought tons of music artists to make these catchy songs, and got the most potty-mouthy- singer, D12, to make a clean song for the movie. People, get your senses right. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Alfonso G Would have been a good animation if Snoop Dogg and Will Smith wasn't in it!!
