I, for one, welcome our benevolent AI overlords, etc...everyone is (rightfully) very upset about the use of AI for content creation and art. Those are low-hanging fruit; I'm finding the real usefulness is in the ability to synthesize knowledge quickly. This, by the way, was used with ChatGPT-4https://lnkd.in/gbDmpnNp

The Latest "Human-like" or "Flirty" AI Could Destroy your privacy and mental health. ๐Ÿšจ This is AI's Danger Zone!๐ŸšจWe have published a video below discussing what the latest updates we have seen from Open AI with their GPT 4o and Google's I/O announcements, which were pretty much all about AI.There are a lot of areas to cover and I suggest you watch the video. But the bottom line is as follows:1๏ธโƒฃ While the announced features are truly remarkable (I think they have revolutionised human-machine interactions quite fundamentally), the dark side however is that your privacy is screwed!2๏ธโƒฃ The AI models behind all of these features are the same. Meaning, that all of the key issues of hallucinations and data leaks have not been fully resolved. So more of your data is at risk with these models.3๏ธโƒฃ The bizarre obsession of making AI "human-like" and Open AI's weird obsession with making it flirty is dangerous. Not to mention, it highlights the misogynistic attitude we still see today in the tech world where women are flirting with tools. I really could not believe my eyes when I saw their video. What are we actually trying to achieve here exactly?4๏ธโƒฃ Anthropomorphising AI is not a new concept, but we have seen serious consequences to vulnerable people in believing that they are building real relationships with AI, which is not a living being with any emotions, ethics, or humane elements. It's all mathematical algorithms mimicking emotions. We have seen stories where such individuals killed themselves because ChatGPT told them to do it!5๏ธโƒฃ While many of the same entities involved in the above announcements talked over the years about sovereign AI, all of the above is the exact opposite of sovereignty.6๏ธโƒฃ Businesses are not as excited about these features because they see how much data will be sucked up into the cloud, which is a big issue. I think this has now compromised enterprises' trust in AI even further.7๏ธโƒฃ Based on the above, I think this has now exposed the opportunity for Apple to jump in and take over this market. I made a prediction back in January 2024 that this year is Apple's AI year and I still stand by it. It is the only company that is in the position and resources to deliver all of the features announced above but locked away within your device - ie, they are in the best position and timing to offer true sovereign AI through edge AI frameworks.https://lnkd.in/eBpqkYWC#AI #Ethics #ResponsibleAI #Google #GPT

Perhaps AI voices will expand human connections! The idea that AI voices will kill human connections is like saying the invention of the telephone would end face-to-face conversations. Did it change how we connect? Absolutely. Did it kill our connections? Far from it.AI voices aren't here to replace human connections; they're here to enhance them. Think of them as the virtual assistants we never knew we needed. Imagine having an AI that knows your favorite songs, remembers your coffee order, or even reminds you to call your mom on her birthday. These voices can fill the gaps in our busy lives, keeping us more connected, not less.Plus, there's a playful side to this. Who says AI can't have a sense of humor? With the right programming, AI voices can make us laugh, inspire us, or even help us through tough times. They're not just digital echoes; they're becoming part of our extended social circleโ€”a new kind of companion that complements, rather than competes with, our human connections. This article feels rather knee-jerk and dystopian...

Very interesting article about #AI and how companionship apps are one of the fastest-growing parts of the A.I. industry. โ€œYouโ€™ll wake up one day and someone you know (possibly your kid) will have an A.I. friend. It wonโ€™t be a gimmick, a game, or a sign of mental illness. It will feel like a real, important relationship, one that offers a convincing replica of empathy and understanding. In some cases, it feels just as good as the real thing.โ€

Individuals who do not practice free will (SELF-control) may become thought hoarders. If these thoughts/ideas are not reconciled with one another, mental illness may result. This concept may be difficult to understand, yet it happens. AI can offer a real-world demonstration of the problem. The following quote is from an American Thinker article:ChatGPT malfunctions and spits out unintelligible โ€˜gibberish.โ€™https://lnkd.in/gWvUAqPd

ChatGPT glitches out: Rogue AI responding in nonsensical Spanglish, gibberish - In other words, "hoarder" thinkers can lose control of what they think they know. Mental illness surely follows. - LearningFramework https://learningframework.com

Today I asked ChatGPT to write a public speech on the topic of brain injury, the impact it has on confidence and mental health, and the process of recovery. The result?AI nailed it!Does that mean we public speakers can hang up our rhetorical devices, burn our visual aids, and slump into monsyllabic conversation? No.Whilst the speech was a technical masterpiece, the tale lacked the human touch: the emotions, being relatable, and the ability to create a connection on a level only humans are (currently) capable of.At some indeterminate point in the future, this may change. For now, AI can't replace you and your public speaking skills.#publicspeaker #publicspeaking
